✦ FAQ ✦

✦ OWNERSHIP:

  • Can I co-own my Orin outside of the group?
    • You can set up your own co-ownership agreements outside of Orins, but we do not officially recognize co-ownership within the group and only one owner will be listed on the Masterlist at any one time. Mods will not step in if conflict arises within the co-ownership.

✦ DESIGNING:

  • Is there a limit to how many traits I can put on an Orin?
    • Nope! As long as you own and use the appropriate items in order to use said traits.
  • Can I make a Corrupted or Hollow Orin as a MYO?
    • No, this is not permitted at this time.
  • Can I make a cross-breed Orin with another species with their respective MYO slots?
    • No, this is not permitted at this time.
  • Can my Orin have alternate forms (eg, multiple alt palettes)?
    • To an extent with the Iridophos Potion! Read more about the item for further information.
  • What counts as minor changes to an Orin design?
    • Very minor changes to colors and patterns, hairstyle and hair length changes, and accessory and clothing changes are all allowed to be done for free without approval. A minor change should not be immediately noticeable unless someone takes another minute to study the differences.
    • A lot of minor changes when combined may become a major change, so be careful! For instance, if an Orin of yours is 50% blue-colored, and you only change the blue to a red, that's already changing 50% of the whole design!
    • Disclaimer: Redesigns are subjective and by case-by-case approval.
  • What counts as major changes to an Orin design?
    • Major changes involve trait additions or changes, and basically any changes to the base design that is immediately different from the original. The redesign is still required to resemble the original design. You may not rehaul an Orin beyond recognition from the original design. The new design should at least look like it can be a sibling design to the original!
    • You may need a Fateful Ambrosia to change an Orin design, and appropriate trait items in order to upgrade or change existing traits.
    • Disclaimer: Redesigns are subjective and go by case-by-case approval.
  • When during redesigning can I determine if I need an item?
    • Note the percentages means "how much of the new design has been changed."
      • A max 20% change does not need an item.
      • A Fateful Ambrosia can allow a redesign to change maximum 60% of the design.

  • Can I replace an existing trait on an Orin?
    • Yes, you can replace existing traits or add new traits with the appropriate trait items.
  • Can I remove a higher rarity trait from an Orin design?
    • Yes, you may do so for free as long as you resubmit them for mod approval.
  • Can I have someone else redesign my Orin?
    • Yes, you can ask someone to or commission them to redesign your Orin with the appropriate items. Don’t forget to submit it for approval! Please remember that designs are subject to change when being approved.

✦ GROUP:

  • Do I need to strictly follow Orin lore?
    • Nope, not at all! You do not have to strictly follow pre-set Orin lore if that is your preference, but do be mindful that non-canon stories may not be able to be used in official group prompts that need all information to be based on official lore.
  • Can I use an Orin's official humanoid forms in activities and prompts?
    • Unless specified otherwise in the activity- yes, official Orin humanoid forms may be used in activities and prompts because they are considered canon!
  • There's an error in my bank, what can I do to get it fixed?
    • Contact a mod, with proof, of the correct counts!
  • There's an error on the Masterlist of an Orin I own, what can I do to get it fixed?
    • Contact a mod, with proof if necessary, to get it fixed!
      • Examples of situations that need proof: an ownership error, a missing applied trait you added recently with an item.
      • Examples of situations that don't need proof: a typo is made on the Masterlist entry, a trait is missing that was in the original design.
  •  Can I make gore or vent art involving my Orin?
    • Yes, but be mindful to tag, spoiler, or censor sensitive content.
      • Extremely sensitive content that can be triggering to others (such as s*icide) are asked not to be shared in group spaces.
      • Poorly tagged sensitive content may result in suspensions or removal of said content in group spaces.

✦ PROMPTS:

  • What’s a prompt? Flash prompt? Monthly Prompt?
    • Prompts are, as the name suggests, prompts, themes, and ideas for you to draw or write your Orins to! Prompts are all optional to participate in. What’s special about prompts in relation to normal art are prompts award bonus in-game rewards for your participation! But do be aware that drawing to a prompt requires you to follow certain guidelines in order to be accepted for rewards.
    • Flash Prompts: Are limited-time prompts that are sporadically announced in the Discord. These prompts have a shorter submission timeframe than a Monthly Prompt, usually being between a couple days to at most a week.
    • Monthly Prompts: Are prompts that are open for a whole month!
  • Do prompts have a submission limit? (aka, how many times can I enter an ongoing prompt?)
    • The maximum number of entries you can submit to a prompt varies from prompt to prompt and will be listed in the current prompt rules. Generally, the number is estimated to be between one to three.
  • What types of work are accepted?
    • Art and writing are both accepted!
      • Art can be digital or traditional. If submitting traditional art, please take care in submitting a high quality photo (good lighting, no blurriness) so that rewards won’t be miscalculated.
      • Writing can be submitted by a google docs (make sure sharing permissions are set to: anyone with link can view), to a TH literature, or dA journals/literature/sta.sh.
  • Is there a difference between the rewards for art and writing?
    • Art and writing are graded differently. However, when all the extra bonus criterias are maxed out for either art or writing, the maximum amount of rewards is the same for both mediums. (ie, if the max reward for art is 100DS, then the max reward for writing is also 100DS.)
  • How would art and writing be graded respectively?
    • Art: Visual art will be graded by the composition of the piece based on what criterias are met towards the prompt. Things such as backgrounds, and additional Orins in an image can grant bonus rewards on top of the base reward.
    • Writing: Writing will be graded by word count and can gain bonuses by meeting certain word count milestones or through other writing specific prompts specified.
  • Is there a maximum number of Orins I can put into any one prompt?
    • No, but the rewards you can redeem for extra Orins may have a limit. Extras may not count towards any bonus rewards.
    • Writing is mostly graded based on word count, and not number of featured Orins unless specified otherwise.
  • If I’m submitting visual art, can I make a comic? How would it be graded?
    • Comics will be graded in the either following two choices at the decision of the artist:
      • Grading I: Count the entry as ONE single submission. The artist may choose the panel that meets the base prompt criteria that they want the most rewards out of. The maximum bonus Orin count reward will be counted based on the whole combined image.
        • For example, let’s say I drew 3 panels with 7 Orins featured in total. Only 3 Orins at most will give me the bonus Orin count reward for this single entry.
      • Grading II: Count the entry as MULTIPLE submissions. Multiple submissions will go towards the maximum submission count, capping at the max number of entries. The artist may choose the panel(s) that meet the base prompt criteria that they want the most rewards out of. The maximum bonus Orin count reward will be counted per chosen panel.
        • For example, let’s say I drew 3 panels with 7 Orins featured in total. If the maximum submission limit is 2, I can only pick at most 2 panels that meet the base prompt criteria that I would like to have graded. For the bonus Orin count reward, the first panel counts all 3, and the second panel counts all 3.
  • If I’m submitting visual art, can I make an animation? How would it be graded?
    • Every unique* frame that meets the base prompt criteria will be graded as its own individual submission. If the max submission count is 3, for instance, then only 3 frames at most will be counted.
      • *“Unique” means that this frame is redrawn from scratch. Meaning previous frames that are reused or edited and mid-tweens will not count.
  • If I’m submitting visual art, can I make a physical craft?
    • Currently, crafts are not graded for prompts.
