- Adopt / Adoptable
- A character design an artist creates who sells the rights or partial rights to a buyer who may use the design to create a character.
- Character-based character (cbc) / "Dekudog"
- A character heavily inspired by another existing character or is recognized as an AU form of a character not owned by the user. Claiming full ownership over designs of this nature perpetuates design theft.
- Commission
- Purchasing a service from an artist to create a custom work for the commissioner.
- Cooldown
- A time period that must pass before you can repeat the action taken that incited a cooldown. This may be used to prevent spam or discourage pawning.
- Co-Own
- To own a character design with one or more other people.
- Custom Design (Customs)
- A type of commission where the artist is instructed to create a new character design as per the commissioner's specifications.
- Dream Shards
- An Orin species currency.
- Guest Artist
- An artist who has permission to make Orin Realm adoptables and customs.
- Moderator
- A staff member who runs this site, approving submissions, transfers, and other Orin-related activities.
- MYO / MYO Slot
- Stand for "Make-Your-Own," a MYO Slot gives the owner permission to make 1 new Orin with the given rarity.
- Night Flares
- An Orin species currency.
- Rarity
- Tiers that denote the availability of certain traits or subtypes.
- Semi-Closed Species
- An Original Species that allows limited free creation of a character part of this group. Outside of those special instances, you may not make more Orins without MYO Slots.
- Subtype
- A group of Orins that may feature traits or lore exclusive to a specific Subtype.
- Traits
- Unique features that may be applied to a character design. Some traits may be rarer to obtain to use on a design.

- A site in beta that works as a character repository site Orin Realm members and staff may use in conjuction to The Realm of Orin. We have no official affiliation with the site.
- Voiding
- The process of removing the species name from a character and keeping the character as a non-species.
